How long do you want to ignore this user?
Visiting a family member last week, their 48V golf cart is so dead the charger won't work. I found the video below and tried to follow the instructions but I dont know if it was the cheap Amazon charger I bought, the fact that I did not disconnect one bank of batteries from the other, or if this just doesn't work but does anyone have advice or suggestions?

I bought this Battery Charger from Amazon and tried it across three of the 6 batteries in 24V mode and after 5 hours, it still showed 0 V.

I had a similar issue. Had to charge each battery individually with a 12volt battery charger before there was enough collective juice for the golf cart charger to decide it was safe to charge. You may need a12 volt charger that has a manual override.

This is a good one that has "force" mode

PSA don't use force mode on lithiums. And don't leave it unattended when in force mode.

Also, I'm assuming you have a golf cart charger made for the cart.

I've used laboratory power supplies in the past to force voltage into really dead batteries.

You will need to disconnect one bank of 3 batteries from the other, so that each bank would get the 24V. If that doesn't work, do them individually as suggested earlier.

I have two of those exact chargers that I use on my 48 volt yamaha (6x8 v). I don't use the 48 volt yamaha charger because a couple of my batteries are weaker than the others and they tend to get overcharged when I try to charge them all together. Works better if I split into two banks of 24v by disconnecting between #3 and #4.

This has worked for me...

Start your personl vehicle (car/truck)
Remove car/truck battery (leaving vehicle running, powered by alternator)

Place cart battery in vehicle, attaching +/- cables
Let battery charge for half hour

That should give it enough juice to accept a charge from a battery charger

Remove battery from vehicle (shut off vehicle, reinstall vehiucle battery
Attach cart battery to charger... let ot charge (or put in in recondition mode)
Install cart battery in cart
Enjoy

If you're using a golf cart charger, make sure you uplug the charger from the 120V outlet before you plug it in to the cart. I just replaced my charger with a new one and I have to cycle the power going to it to get it to start charging. The guy I bought the cart from told me to do that with the old charger and I always did. I thought I might not have to do that with the new charger, but after the cart died on me, I figured out otherwise.
