prices are very good compared to what I've seen lately

I got 130k miles out of a 2019 Sierra AT4 with 6.2 with no issues. Only ever ran 87 unleaded. A friend with '21 of the same truck is now on his third engine. Main bearing failure in the first two.

Looks like this bearing issue started in 2021?

What changed?

Bearings?
2 stage oil pump?
Engine mapping changes for revisions in 10 spd transmission?

FYI, the denali which has the 6.2 comes with a 5 year 60k mile warranty.

And for the record GM sales roughly 250-300k 6.2L engines every year. You're going to hear of horror stories with that many. Same thing with Ford's ecoboost engines or 6.7 diesel engines and the cp4 pump.

When you sell that many vehicles with that engine you're going to find thousands of stories of failure on line....it's just math.

2018 Yukon with the 6.2 here. 91k miles. Just lost the ****** and its currently at the dealer for the infamous misfire, aka probably has lifter failure. Fuuuuuck GM

Forgive my ignorance, but with these lifter failures, are you dead in the water? Or can you still get it to a dealership? The scariest thing, IMO, is losing power at high speeds with the 6.2L bearing failures. That and potentially losing the vehicle on a road trip, a good distance from a service point.

My lifter failure is still drivable, just has a misfire on #2

It's also probably shaving a lobe off your cam. Maybe change the oil more frequently if you're gonna keep driving it so that metal doesn't stop up your filter

Proper fix entails replacing the cam anyways

I have the 6.2 V8 in my 2023 camaro ss 1le but believe mine is technically lt1 while the 6.2 in the newer trucks is a lt2.

that being said, I drive the hell out of my car on the track often and have zero failures. I have 7,000 miles and 1/4 of that is hard track time.

My '23 1500 is waiting for engine #3. The second engine did not last 6k miles.

Any details you can share on previous failures?

#1,2 mains and rods?
Any damage on camshaft?
etc...

Crank shaft bearing failure.

How is the diesel treating him? Looking into a 24 6.6

Wife's 2023 Suburban Z71 6.2 crapped out on her while heading out of town. Left her on the side of the road. Towed to dealership and has been there for a month now. Engine on back order and no idea when replacement will get here.
