As a car guy, I can appreciate the retro-cool vibe this thing has, and the instant personality it has injected into a class of vehicle that are typically viewed as bland, boring, and soul crushing.

As someone who finally caved to van life a few years back, if this had been available at that time, with something other than an EV only powertrain, it would have been on my list to look at because of the personality.

I don't love it, and I think the EV only and price point will keep it from gaining the sales volume the "new" bug had when they released it, but it has that same potential. And since EVs have become mainstream, it might only be pricing that hurts the volume here, and the crowd this appeals to typically has no problem spending obscene amounts of money on new vehicles, so maybe it will sell like hotcakes.

Way cooler than an Odyssey, Siena, or Carnival, which may not be saying much . Car guy approved, by this car guy.

I think it's fun to have different designs like this. We are getting to where all of the SUV's, trucks, etc look pretty much exactly the same.

I like what VW did here, it's a good look to continue on the Bus tradition going back 70 years. Some things I wouldn't drive myself, or even think are "bad" relative to my wants and needs, can still be admired for what it is and what the goal of it is. I think VW did well here but I do think range could have been a bit longer. Still, for people shuttling around a city and able to charge at home every night, not needing this for long road trips, it's a cool thing. Oh, and I do think the price is too high but I guess I think that about most cars these days.

So, 2 weeks in, this thing is FUN to drive. Granted my daily (Nissan NV) is basically a tank, but the Bus is zippy and the tech all works well together. I never "stole" the wife's Odyssey to run errands; this one is different.
