Wanted : small 4x4 for farm truck

I'm looking for a 4x4 truck to be used for feeding and checking cows on a weekly basis or so. Looking to keep it around $10K but would go up to $15K.

I want something smaller, Tacoma/Frontier/Colorado like in size.

Any suggestions on the best place to find something like this? I've searched the heck out of facebook but with every listing I'm suspicious about something or the other. I've never bought a used car from an individual. Do I just need to get over that and figure it out?

I don't suppose anyone here has something like that they're looking to part with??

I understand you said small 4x4 but in my Facebook searching it seems to me that those bring a premium.

Id consider a GMT-800 series truck. You can get a pretty decent one for 7500 if you keep your eyes out. 5k if you get lucky.

I've been eyeing this old J10 on marketplace for a while. Not that I need it for any reason, but I like J10's. Something like this might work for you. Plus older trucks are a lot easier to work on.

We have one of those! Kawasaki mule which is great.

This is mostly for my mother to use to go check on a place that's about 15 miles away from home. So it needs to be highway worthy. And that's why I'd prefer a smaller truck to make getting in/out easier.

Ah, okay. So I'll throw out another totally worthless suggestion. Full size 4WD....with running boards/steps.

And someone said Craigslist is better than it used to be for cars, because they charge for ads now

I've got a 2005 Nissan Frontier Nismo 4x4 4 door that I'm going to sell for $5k. 270k miles.

Runs great. Drive it from Fort Worth to the to the ranch west of Cisco. Thing does not get stuck. I just don't use as much as I thought and we use the UTV for most things. That said this truck is great when it's 105* because the AC is cold and when it's 20* because the heat is hot.

Full disclosure it has a small oil seep that you can smell when in reverse. Does not leak as there is never oil on the ground. I recently had a new radio head unit installed with Apple car play and back up camera but that unit somehow drains the battery. When I unhook the head unit it's fine. So most likely need someone to reinstall that or put a new one in.

Whoo! Nothing like a drive by comment and then forgetting it.

Looking for $4k. I'm near Madisonville. It was used as a daily driver for about 2 yrs into B/CS. It runs as expected and has just over 105k miles, with the original paint that has surface rust and primer. We left it because I think it's cool looking.
