Had a really fun Christmas evening near Salado on our way back home. Hit at about 55 coming around a corner. Squared it up pretty good, then ran over it with both passenger side wheels.

Passenger door rubs a bit on the quarter panel now. Steering was a bit loose. Passenger headlight busted. And all the obvious other body damage.

I'll go $3750 before the supplemental. $4500 after.

Yep… one headlight and the grille assembly was already 3,500 in parts alone. Then for some reason the plastic shutters for the radiator and turbo intercooler are another 1,500. Those dumb plastic shutters are 7-8 times more expensive than the radiator/intercooler themselves.

Bunch of nickel and dime other parts and trim (including the actual bumper) gets to 9,000 in parts with 40 hours of labor (they have to do paint work on the fender as well).

Should've had em replace the front bumper with a steel one for that price...

Is that a transmission cooler dented as well? Can you tell if the radiator is in any way damaged?

Meh. The OP is going to pay the same exact amount no matter who he uses. Might as well get the best body man out there. OEM parts and a lifetime warranty on paint and body should be part of it.

Parts are expensive and labor is at least 150/hr so, I don't know that his estimate is unreasonable. Either way, who gives a crap, he isn't responsible for that.

There will be paint involved, and I am particular about paint. If it doesn't look perfect, they will do it over and over and over until it is. The best way to prevent that is to get a good paint and body guy to do it right the first time and they ain't cheap.

Nah. Unless the insurance company is suing the deer. So... Maybe...

Our Expy got totaled when someone blew a stop sign and readily admitted they were at fault. But those two insurance companies fought it out for 2 years. Before that we got rear-ended and the other driver changed their story a few times and the insurance companies fought it out for 12 months before they assigned 100% of the blame to other driver. The world of insurance tort is completely nuts.

Also, how the heck is there not a "Username checks out" already on the OP on this page.
