Howdy Ags ! I've been looking for a used GX460 And came a cross a couple of good deals from a company called United Auto Group in Carrollton. It's in a small industrial area and looks as though it specializes in luxury SUVs (Mercedes, BMW, Land Rover etc). I've read all of the reviews online and they seem positive with a few negatives sprinked in. Anyway, I wanted to see if anyone here had ever used them or knows anything about them. I'm taking whatever car I buy in to my mechanic to check it out, but wanted to see if anyone here had any experience with this company. Cross posted in the Metroplex forum.

There's a ton of independent dealers up there selling "luxury" cars they pick up at auction. They likely won't be able to give you any history on the car.

I'd make sure to get a PPI, do a long in person test drive/inspection, and see if you can get the maintenance history from Lexus. Also do a Carfax and Autocheck to see whether it's made the auction circuit multiple times

There are several outfits in Carrolton that specialize in this stuff, from auctions and then sell online out of literally indoor warehouses (I suspect for code purposes they aren't a type of car dealer, as in it counts on cars.com or whatever as a private sale, and can't store them outside). I don't know that any of them are really particularly shady, but I'd recommend taking it by someone like Redmon automotive in Lewisville or another shop you trust just to make sure it's not a vehicle with some hidden damage/history.

Howdy howdy. I actually bought a couple cars from these folks for the kiddos. One is an '04 SC430,,,the other a '16 GLE 350. Great deal on both units. Just oil changes & O2 sensors on the SC430 in 3 years... recently picked up the GLE for college kiddo... So far so good on that one...fingers crossed. Service B was just completed prior to the purchase. No dealer fees and fair negotiations. Hope this helps. Good luck!

How does purchasing one of these vehicles that was totaled out by hail, sold at auction, then cosmetically 100% repaired, affect insurability? The powertrain warranty? How much of a discount should that translate to?

Not sure on your question…both units I purchased from UAG had clean titles / carfaxes. :-)
