Not quite, fuel mileage and horsepower will go down but still less particulates emitted.

GPF is largely needed due to amounts of particulate emitted with direct injection. Port injection emits less particulates than direct injection. Manufacturers have implemented direct injection to improve power and fuel economy lol

When I was a kid the Association of ******ed Citizens was the largest non-profit in our county. They are just known as ARC now. It was a fantastic organization and their leadership was outstanding.

It's hard to imagine any other local Downs Syndrome organizations in the 80s auctioning off brand new donated bass boats with motors and other high dollar items at their annual BBQ. Their take from that BBQ was multiples of the average home price at the time.

My understanding of DEF is it envelops the diesel exhaust in a white "better" looking exhaust. It makes it heavier and drops onto the ground, instead of being released into the air where plants and trees can use it. It does nothing to curb diesel exhaust. Just makes it heavier and puts it into the ground water. It also creates yet another restriction in the exhaust which causes loss of power and raises fuel consumption. CAFE snd EPA need to go away and let car builders build cars.

DEF is used to control NOx by converting it into Nitrogen and water. I don't know what impact if any it has on particulates.
