That's a gasoline engine truck. That said, i've never owned a dodge but from everything I hear the engine is great but the truck sucks.

Just because i'm curious, what are you looking at?

I'm loving my 2023 Ram 2500 Cummins way more than I loved my 2019 F-250 Powerstroke. Better gas milage and better gadgets for towing. Plus (so far) no death wobble.

I'm looking for a well equipped diesel to pull a 5th wheel. I know I could do it with a gas engine... I seem to just want/need a diesel. I thought I would wind up with A Ford but I have driven them all now and they are all petty good

I pulled a 5th wheel all over the country. Gas would be fine for most of your driving but my 6.7 diesel was amazing in the mountains. And for the majority of my hauling I just put it in cruise control.

If you haven't gotten a hitch yet check out the anderson ultimate hitch. Changed my life.

My 2019 Cummins just turned 75,000 miles today and it has been outstanding so far. Have replaced tires, oil and fuel filters, and recently new brakes, to date.

Try and get a larger fuel tank as well. I bought an f350 which came with a 36 gallon tank. This was a huge benefit when hauling. I had to stop more for the kids and wife than to refuel.

As a matter of fact, I'd look for a 1 ton. Often times they're the same price and I never felt a difference in ride between my 250 and my 350. Never know if you'll want a bigger trailer.

My 20 Cummins 2500 going strong. Only downside is you are immediately branded an ******* by society… my wife told me "if the shoe fits" …. before I got mine.

Thanks, looking at hitches too.
I have read that some hitches void the Lippert frame warranty, some don't. I'm not sure which yet.

We've had 3 Rams and loved all 3. Came from GM and had a Power Wagon and a couple of half tons.

Ram 2500 is the number one vehicle for drunk drivers so you can also take that target off your back if you go another route.

No, you can't.

Unless you have deep pockets and a 100 gallon fuel tank

What makes the Anderson hitch better, easier, etc?
Works well in a short box pickup?

It can work with a short bed truck but you just can't go a full 90* when turning. I had one with my short bed for a while and never encountered a situation where I got close to hitting my cab.

It's super easy to hook up at any angle and the best part is it only takes 2 minutes to remove and get out of the bed of your truck. So you don't have a super heavy hitch taking up 50% of your bed when you're not hauling.

Payload on a 2500 sucks. I would wait until the '25 comes out to see what specs are.

If buying a '24, consider a 3500 SRW depending on weight of 5th wheel. GVWR of 12300 vs 10000, but you have to watch the 26000 lb Class A license threshold. The Aisin is great towing and the engine brake can't be beat. SRW mega cab does ride like a one ton in back seat though.

They are going to an 8 speed transmission and no HO in 25 from what I've read., which means the 2500 might be better but still question of whether they have rear coils which limit loads.

I did have the air suspension light come on under warranty. We'll see how long it stays fixed.
