Currently have a 2018 STX with 150k miles. Starting to look at eventual replacement within first half of next year. I've reviewed the order guides and ford website and have yet to come across any real justification to upgrade from an STX. Anything I'm missing? Any real differences in 2024 vs 2025 models that could sway my decision?

Must Have:
  • 2.7L - will prob stick with this engine. Only thing I'll tow is a kawasaki mule + gear or the occasional home project loads.
  • 36 gal Fuel Tank
  • 4 X 4
  • Running Boards - can get aftermarket
  • 20" Wheels - standard on STX, not on XLT
  • Sport Cloth - looks to be standard on both
  • Remote start - available aftermarket??
  • Keypad entry - not available on STX, optional on XLT. Can I get this aftermarket on STX?
  • Backup sensor - looks to be standard on both, my current STX doesn't have them
  • Backup camera - looks to be standard on both

Nice to have:
  • 3.5L EcoBoost I would consider but is only available on XLT
  • Locking Diff
  • Column shifter (I don't like the console shifters and it looks like all STX are column and XLT are console)
  • Paint match bumpers like the STX already has. I don't like chrome
  • Tow Package - STX will come with class III receiver but you can only get enhanced tow packages if upgrade to 5.0 or 3.5. Not a big deal.
  • Power cable near rearview mirror would be nice for wiring in a dashcam. I assume I can run my own wiring though??
  • AC Outlet would be nice but isn't a deal breaker.

Really wish they made the STX crew cab with the rear 6.5 foot bed

I'm not sure what trim gets you that but my rear view has power port and used this

Dongar Technologies Dash Cam... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B088P4VFQ7?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Escort makes easy connections to tap into for radar detector too:

Using both on my F150
