Despite that fact that it's an EV to start with why would anyone want this option, other than "look at me", and under what circumstances would it be useful? Parallel parking? I can't imagine it being any easier than parallel parking a regular front steer vehicle.

Most people suck at parallel parking, I'll admit that I'm not great at it because it's usually several years between attempts. That would make it useful for the 2 to 3 times you own the vehicle that you need to parallel park (assuming you're not a big city dweller).

Other than that, it's a look at me feature.

Tighter turning radius. They don't just crab walk, they use it for rear wheel steering. Will never own one but the feature is interesting.

There have been some clever parking ideas over the years, even without computers to help.

Can be useful for offroading, but nobody is really going to offroad these things.

What would be most useful is to build an actual small 4x4 truck again. 20-30 year old jeeps and toyotas didn't need to crabwalk.
