I haven't seen anyone post about this, so I'm sorry if I missed it. This guy in Florida bought a 1966 C10 to repair or restore, but wound up doing a frame swap with a 2001 Tahoe.

Here's the last of 19 episodes that shows the finished product. It came out looking great.

Whoa. I watched it all. No bs-ing, no music, just work. Great video.

I think this same guy did a body swap where he put a 60s Ford Fairlane body on the frame of a Lexus GS400.

I'll give this guy a look, but there is a YT guy in Tennesse goes by Gibson63 that's restored a couple 60's C-10s.

Started watching his rust repair skills...learned a lot from him. He's not so much into restomoding as restoring to their utilitarian intent of these trucks.

Been working on my own '66 for too long now. Removed the SB 400 and replaced it with a LS-3 and a 460Le gearbox. Upgraded to coil overs in front with discs all around, truck had staggered Ansen Slotted Mags already but it was a rusted nightmare. Replaced the old benchseat with some reupholstered Ford Escape seats in it and some other interior mods that aren't finished yet. Got stuck on the SS exhaust and dash electronics.

I've had enough problems with a performance rebuild on my 2015 Silverado. I couldn't imagine all of that in 8 months.

What coil over kit did you use? Upper and lower control arms? Not doing the rear? I'd love to hear what all you did on this!

My son and I restomoded a patina '68 and we bagged it because that was the popular route at the time. The air was a cool novelty - but it rides exactly like sh*t and it's old enough now that we'd like to upgrade to something better. He's grown and the truck lives with me; we've talked and agreed that a performance coil over suspension would be the way to go.

Whatcha got there? Is that a whipple blower?

I'm about to go to a full drivetrain overhaul on this rig. 5.3L to a 383 stroker, whipple blower, circle D stage 4 6LE, etc. The goal is 700+ HP to the rear wheels.

Nah just the OE intake without that tacky cover. I might wipple myself but just going to enjoy it NA for a bit. I still need some exhaust stuff done on it because it's entirely to loud, and a tune. It's been nice finally being able to drive it.
Don't my rims and tires look nice!
