Does anyone have a Lexus connection that has the ability to get a new GX 550? All of the dealers I have called won't put out of town people on their lists and I refuse to deal with my local folks. Some of them are up front about "market adjustments" and claim that all dealers are adding them.

What's the best way to get one of these things? Are market adjustments going to be mandatory? Thanks for any thoughts!

Went and looked at them last weekend at Sewell in Fort Worth. Sales guy told me that the waitlist is currently about 1 year (12mo). He didn't mention anything about "market adjustments" but I wouldn't be surprised if this was standard practice for all dealers given the demand for the GX right now. I did get to test drive the demo that they had. It's pretty freakin' sweet!

Shouldn't have to pay a market adj on an ordered one but will have to wait 4-6 months. Atleast that's what NorthPark in SA claims. They have a few "certified" ones that they bought back from people that ordered that are about 8-10k above sticker if you gotta have one now.

Edit to add not a true order but select preferences and you are in line to take delivery based on your spot in the waitlist. If no one ahead of you wants the specific package it falls to you. Prtety unlikely though because they will pay you a couple grand to buy it from you so the can sell it certified for 10k more

We bought ours from a dealer this summer in NY and had it shipped. No market adjustment.

Look at the "Lexus GX 550 Owners & Enthusiasts" group on facebook as people share their purchase experience & dealers sometimes post availability. At least it's rewarding seeing folks bash the dealers that post w/ a huge dealer adjustment.

My parents got one at Lexus of Lakeway after a ~2 month wait. I think they had the option to buy one sooner, but they weren't the color or options they were looking for. They don't live in Lakeway but they buy a new Lexus from that dealership every year or two.

Never any adjustments above msrp at Sewell but their waitlist is very long. Best bet is to find a smaller dealership that has a no adjustments policy and work with them. If you want a specific model, color, option list it's going to be a while, but the more flexible you are the faster you can get one. No custom orders with Lexus so dealerships generally get what they get with some flexibility on trim levels they can request.

All that to say do a nation wide search and start calling dealers on ones you like. 9/10 it will have probably "just sold" so be prepared for that.

Market adjustments (ridiculous) will stop when people quit paying them. You're getting screwed, people. Screwed.
