Anyone racing this season?
HOTKC and NTK both have 90% of the same days scheduled. Texas Sprint Racing Series and DFW Triple Crown are now joined by Texas Karting League for regional level racing.

We did DFW triple crown last year because it was fairly convenient. Might pick and choose a couple of other regional races just for the practice.

Looks like it's a race in the rain this Saturday. Anyone got any tips?

We've got wet tires on aluminum wheels, and an air filter cover. What are we missing?

First, let me say reading this thread is awesome. It's gotta feel good to do any part of this from the building to the racing.

Only partially related and only if you have very small children but has anyone seen the drag racing competitions that are catching on with the power wheels and the hop up kits?

It's been really good for me too. I lost my dad when I was 13. learning about cleaning carburetors and having an excuse to own an impact driver have been therapeutic.

It was great for my daughter and I, although it seems so long ago now. She just started her sophomore year in college and we sold our kart after she graduated high school. But we maximized our time together and we both learned some things. Now I'm looking for a 2nd EVO that I can use as a DD and set up for her as a track car. Would love to be out there together in the same run class in HPDE events in like cars so I can whip her, until she starts whipping me

My 14 year old just got into LO206 karting - I ended up getting two used Karts from a local team. The other kart my older son and I share. The track is 20 mins from our house and it's an annual membership so no fees to practice whenever you want. However getting the trailer, tools, and learning the hard way when things break has been a journey. But it's been a lot of fun. We go out every weekend. While LO206 is cheap - the costs add up depending on what you want to get yourself. I feel like I end up getting something (oil, cleaner, tool, random small parts) about every week.
