Moved my daughter, Class of 24, to Dallas this weekend and headed home to SA. And sure enough she calls me today in a panic that someone hit her car. Hit and run. I don't want to repair thru insurance because of the likelihood Allstate will raise our premium.
Since she's by herself, I'm looking for a reputable auto repair shop. She lives in the Turtle Creek area.

Premiums are gonna go up regardless of a claim or not. I haven't had a ticket or accident (knock on wood) in over ten years. My premium just went up $400 for 12 month policy. Use your insurance and shop it around when renewal time comes. You pay monthly and have been for how long now? Hopefully you have UMPD coverage and it's a $250 deductible, file the claim and shop it.

Yeah it's a given our premiums are going up regardless. But the possibility of being dropped is also high and more of a pa.

Highly unlikely that an insurance company is going to drop you for a UMPD claim unless this is your 10th claim in a year or something crazy like that . If your daughter had caused a 10 car pile up then yes good probability you'll be dropped but for a UMPD claim, not likely.

auto insurance companies aren't suppose to increase your rates, specifically, from a hit and run

they increase everyone's in the area
