I used this for an old vehicle several years ago on a whim.

They sanded it down, buffed it out and put some type of coating/sealant on it. Pretty much the same thing you can do at home yourself.

I got rid of it about 1.5 years later, but the headlights still looked good.

We did it at Sam's Club and got a 5 year warranty on one of the kid's cars.

Sanded and sealed for $50 total…..but 10 years ago and looked brand new. Surely same technique at Walmart.

Damn I was gonna say its so DIY-able that I wouldn't want walmart doing it, but for $26 I feel like its probably worth it.

That's a decent value. What they do is sand and buff the oxidized clouded surface layer off the plastic and then apply a sort of transparent clear coat that prevents future oxidation and UV deterioration for a good while.

If you are in College Station go see Pete at Walmart.
He is Veteran and cares about everything he works on.
He will do an excellent job.

Agreed. The $15 DIY kit works well but is a lot of work.

Thanks to this thread, I told my son about this service at Walmart. He had used a kit that he had bought for a 13 year old F150, and didn't do much good with restoring the headlights at all. He took the truck yesterday and had Walmart do it. The restoration of them was incredible. They look brand new, and make the truck look 10 years newer. He was very pleased for the $28 it cost him.

Which Walmart did he go to? With your user name I'm wondering if you are up near Mesquite or Rockwall in DFW?

He went to the Walmart in Sugar Land, at Hwy 6 and 90.
