What say you auto board on a mid size truck 4 door 4x4. No Honda or Maverick though. My mom does not like those. Those that have them or whatever pros and cons. Thanks.

Following. Really liking the new GMC Canyon AT4 and Denali trims. Just don't know if I would be able to go from a half ton down to the smaller truck without it feeling tiny.

Tacoma is the far and away best option

Many reviews have the canyon and new 2024 ranger right up there. Those are magazines and and auto sites so curious for all input. Thanks for yours

Just go by actual track record and not magazines.

Tacoma is the #1 mid size truck for years and years for a reason. Just like a Glock 19. They're freaking reliable. Same thing with a 4 Runner.

I have a really strong feeling you would never consider anything but a Toyota.

I own a f150 right now.

But if I wanted a midsize vehicle it would be a Tacoma or 4 Runner

I've had two Tacomas as rentals lately and really wanted to like them but the ride is very rough and the truck is under powered. I also rented a Frontier and liked it better that the Tacoma. That 300hp v6 has some gittyup.

I don't know if they're actually any good (or reliable), but I would love to try a Ranger Raptor out. Those look really fun.

My wife had a Tacoma as a rental about a year ago and didn't like it much. Similar feedback to yours.

I don't keep up with Nissan but it was just a year ago. I know it had the 300hp v6. We had it for a week in Minnesota in the snow and ice. 4x4 worked well. It did have an occasional problem with the ABS which was not ideal in that weather. Restart always cleared the problem

I'm worried about long term with a turbo 4. I was thinking about a small truck for the wife and in the next year or two if we go that way it'll be a frontier most likely.

I was asking about the Tacoma...

Really enjoying my new GMC Canyon AT4X. The size and feel of the truck is nice. Quiet on the inside, and capable of anything off-road. Even though its a turbo-4, it still has enough pace to move well in traffic.

Your mom would like a Ranger Raptor. She could hit some sweet jumps.

I continue to be flabbergasted at the price of mid sized trucks (well all trucks I guess). It just seems insane the price difference between mid and full size is so small.

This.

Was looking at a used Taco. Was more expensive than a used Titan - same year, same mileage.

Went with the Titan.
I know a lot about a little, and a little about a lot.

Frontier, if you're looking for reliability. New Tacoma is unproven

For looks, comfort, features, and power - 2024 Ranger Raptor then Canyon AT4X.

For reliability and longevity - Toyota Tacoma.

I might let her have my F150 if she were to get that, or it least borrow it every now and again

Gonna have to be pre owned. Besides the Maverick hybrid Rangers are almost impossible to get.

The 2024 Rangers are bad A$$ though lol. Big improvement over the previous years

I think the new Tacoma engine is going to be pretty solid, even with the turbo. It's still Toyota engineering here.
