My less than 2 month old Tesla had a crack form from a tiny impact ding at the top and is quickly spreading down. Anyone know of a place in Houston that can repair cracks, possibly with something like a Crack Eraser?

I have an appointment with Tesla and it's close to $1,500 for a replacement, most of which my insurance will cover, but I'd go with a repair if it's cheap.

my understanding is if the crack is long enough, it's nigh impossible to "repair". That's what I recall when I had a big bullseye happen and took it to safelite. Guy said it was almost too big and its diameter was around a silver dollar. But cracks hadn't spread was the key he said.
That's why when you get a chip you gotta fill quickly

but I also just had to replace my entire windhield and used safelite. that's who insurance goes thru

I wonder if they repair cracks. Mine went from 6" to 12" in 3 days.

I went by there at lunch and he offered to fix for $100 but said he'd recommend just getting it replaced.

Crap

My Jeep has the Gorilla Glass. Stuff is crap. It cracks way faster than traditional auto glass. And Jeep's "warranty" is one replacement in first 2 years of ownership. for which, the dealer had to fight Stellantis to actually get covered. But, that one freebie is done. So, now I need a replacement.

Alas my repair didn't hold. I didn't think it would since the rock damage was severe.

I also have a new glass guy. Apples prices had been rising the past few years once Gigi left.

I got a new guy.

Did it for less than half of what Apple did my 21 for.

I just had a little rock cause a crack on my windshield a couple weeks ago. It was about 1" wide spider web. In 2 days, it was 12" long . I tried to repair it myself, and the initial spider web portion is hardly noticeable, but the crack is.

I had a local company offer to replace it for around $800, because our insurance doesnt cover windshield replacement.

I think I'll just let it go for a while, and replace it in a couple years.
