I went yesterday morning right after the doors opened. I get the impression that these auto shows are dying off. Covid is long past and yet the number and size of the exhibitors is smaller than ever. No Jaguar, Acura, Infiniti, Cadillac, Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Dodge, Ram or Jeep (probably more brands were missing that I haven't listed). Also, some of the brands that did show had a pathetic presence with just 3-4 vehicles, like Buick and GMC. Nissan and Honda had good showings, but this show was definitely dominated by Ford, Chevy and Toyota.
Usually the Stellantis brands have a huge area with an indoor driving course (steep hills, bumpy road sections, etc.) along with big indoor displays of their new models that you can see up close. This year, the only Stellantis presence was a few vehicles parked outside that you could drive around a small section of the parking lot.
It really feels like some auto brands have just lost the will to live in the US market.
