It's new but curious to hear thoughts on this one, especially if anyone has purchased it.

Fancy Highlander. Nice cockpit.
Assume Lexus quality.

275 horse, and it needs a turbo.

Nope.

Nothing special, just another generic SUV/crossover thing. The automotive equivalent of mom jeans. "Mmmmmm..... so sensible!"

The most interesting part about it is the TX for Texas.

Some really great shots of it if you google image search "A Lexus Texas"

TX350 has a 2.4L with a turbo

TX500h - 366 hp (same engine/turbo but adds hybrid)
TX550h - 404 hp (3.5L w/ turbo & hybrid)

I think this fills the 3 row family hauler SUV for Lexus as the GX & LX (and RX for a couple years) had 3 rows but GX & LX are better suited for overlanding than CostCo trips.

just bought one

was between that or the grand Highlander hybrid. Went with tx for the build quality and service and what not. Coming from a 07gx 470 so gas mileage will be an improvement no matter what!

Third row is super spacious and still got a good amount of cargo room with the seats up.

Did you pay ADM?

Msrp

There were some dealers out of state that were maybe willing to go slightly below but for the most part msrp was the best case scenario on the set up i wanted.

I wish they had one with 3 rows and actual space behind it.

She's rocking an 8 year old Tahoe right now that has all the room in the world. We'll see what she settles on when the time comes

Curious if you also considered large SUVs as an option (Expedition, Tahoe, etc.) which are roughly in the same neighborhood price wise.

I'm considering an Expedition but the reliability and service quality scare the sh$& out of me compared to the Lexus. Would love that space and driving experience though

i kicked it around but tbh im a ***** for toyota and lexus products.

love the expedition layout and size and what not but my sister in law had one and it was in the shop quite a bit.

also, i liked the fact that the tx was a bit lower to the ground so i could get my middle kid in and out without having to hoist him up like i did with the GX (he's in a wheelchair).

really came down to the grand highlander, tx, or the sienna and i couldnt go back to the minivan days (even tho my oddy was one of the best cars ive ever had)

Which trim did you get? I'm seeing some social media chatter that certain grand highlander and TX trims are underpowered. Any input on this?

(I'm the type of driver that does 80-82 in a 70 and I generally have 6 adults in my car for weight reference)

I got the premium with the tech/cold weather package. ****ty thing is it doesn't come with heads up display but I wasn't willing to pay 5k more just for HUD (only on the luxury package)

im not a car expert but I don't think it's under powered. The turbo has some zip to it but acceleration could for sure be better.

Had it a couple of weeks now and chaperoned a group of 7/8 graders on a retreat thing. Had them and their luggage in a roof box and never felt sluggish or anything

Put a deposit down for March delivery over the weekend. Gonna try to talk them into me leveraging that buy into them waiving a deposit from me to get on the GX wait list.
StringerBell
How long do you want to ignore this user?
What does the wait look like for a gx?

Would have absolutely gone that way if the third row was bigger. Love the gx.

Minimum 6 mths and possibly as much as 18 depending on trim according to Westside Lexus. Not sure how that affects whether you get a 24 or 25.
StringerBell

Man Houston dealers are something else. I lucked out this time with sterling McCall but it's crazy the wait lists they have.

Not meaning to hijack thread but that GX is mind blowingly gorgeous imo and the pricing keeps it somewhat attainable to a large segment of the population. It's gonna sell like crazy imo.

And still just as off road capable as the older models
