I'm having trouble fueling up my 2010 Suburban. I've been using HEB for years. I can barely get any fuel to go in the tank.

You might have some sort of vapor canister or vent line behind the fuel fill that's got water in it and wont allow the tank to vent properly.

Same thing happened on our '10 burb.

This is the video I watched. it is for a '05 Burb, but its pretty much the same 3 components to the EVAP system. The purge valve, the solenoid, and the canister.

I just replaced the canister and it fixed the issue. That was 2 years ago. I remember it being kinda hard to get the old one out and the new one in, but was still doable.

Yep my 2011 Tahoe is getting the repair next week. You can do it yourself, but it's probably not fun. Replace the fuel pump while you do it. I've been limping mine along taking 15-20 min to fill up for the last 1-2 years. BTW, after the fix I hear that you shouldn't top off a tank or round up to the nearest dollar, etc. when it stops, just leave it be.

Thank you for the information. Looks like my son in law is going to be busy.

You should never top off the tank or keep going once it stops.

It says so right on the pump and was all over the news for months when that vapor recovery equipment came out.

My father had a 93 and 94 model, and never complained about this issue.

My different chevys have done this for years. And I've had to replace
the components mentioned.

One thing I've noticed is that once they start, it's much easier to fill with gas if you don't let them get below 1/8- 1/4 tank. Below that and the pump cuts off repeatedly.

Fun stuff - repair shop attempted to repair, took to pump and still had an issue - dropping the tank again for round 2. Hopefully they get it fixed tomorrow. There's a reason I didn't want to attempt this on my own for a weekend - too much pressure without a 3rd vehicle.
