I'm sure this is shocking to no one, but the prices have gone up over the 2023 model. The most basic trimmed down model will start at around $32,500. Most 4x4 trims are about $2,300 more expensive than the 2023 model, but the Limited will run you almost $8,500 more than the equivalent 2023.

Wish we could get a turbo diesel Hilux here. I wonder how much those run 6 hours away in Monterrey.

Remember though , we were all well informed recently, that no one wants those so they aren't sold here. People actually want to pay more for their transportation.

Lmao.

I bought an Isuzu dmax v-cross in Thailand a few years back. It's a 6 spd manual turbo diesel. It was about $30K.

The price tag on the limited is crazy. Hell, the 2024 Tundra Limited base price is $300 less than the 2024 Tacoma Limited. The cost of the TRD Pro and TrailHunter is gonna be absurd when those are released

Gotta up the price so they can make corollas cheaper so people will buy little cars they don't want so that Toyota can achieve it's government-mandated Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) numbers.

The number is shocking, but probably only because car prices are among the few things that stick in our long term memories, but most of that is inflation.

A 2002 Tacoma 4x4 double cab MSRP's was $22,120. That would be $37,620 today. That's really close to the SR double cab 4x4 price of the new ones, and I bet feature-for-feature, you get a ton more for a 2024 SR trim truck as compared to whatever came in that 2002.

Wait... are you telling me they aren't all-in on replacing ICE with EVs south of the border?
Don't they know about Climate Change / Global Warming? Somebody ought to tell them.

The base SR truck (which retains a leaf spring rear suspension) comes with a 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, offering 228 horsepower and 243 pound-feet of torque. This engine can be paired with either an 8-speed automatic or 6-speed manual transmission, and with the manual transmission the power figures improve to 270 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. Fuel efficiency for the automatic drivetrain is rated at 20 city, 26 highway, 23 mixed.

Corollas are also way more expensive now.

The price increase on this isn't as bad as some other trucks. We bought a new 2016 Chevy Silverado single cab for like $27,000. 7 years later it is pushing 40k.

We are likely in the market for late 24 to replace my wife's car but I am so tempted to do the same and get a V6 now.

Really tempted to buy a v6 manual I bet a v6 manual Tacoma will sell on bring a trailer in 10-15yrs over sticker

I just searched on CarGurus for new Tacomas. There are 11,275 automatic and 27 manual nationwide.

I will say that Toyota of Burleson worked with me pretty well. They still have pretty good stock.

Its going to be interesting to see how/if these sell.

Seems like this new gen is much nicer on the hwy (ie not gear hunting all the damn time).

I'd be interested to see, come May/June/July if there are more on the lots that aren't moving, and if deals can be had on SR5/TRD trim levels.

Keep in mind that if you are using the build site with a zip code in Gulf States Toyota territory (Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Texas) you are not getting to "build and price" what is possible, you are just getting the closest version of what you input that is available in the GST inventory near you, with all their add-ons and markups included. There are almost no "bare bones" vehicles available from a GST dealership. They almost all have some sort of package of add-ons that will put them at least $5-7K over the base price for the model.

Part in front diff failed, they say it is a sacrificial part designed to fail in extreme conditions to protect the front diff, but it shouldn't have failed in this case
