My parents got their Truck stolen last night at their hotel near MD Anderson. In town for my mom's cancer treatments.

If you find a 2017 white GMC that has an avalanche style side and hard back top, hold them down and I'll be down to take out the trash

Houston is a prime place for theft

OP I hope your parents find or have another vehicle to get treatment. I'd recommend it not be a GM truck, Charger, Challenger, or Trackhawk

Welcome to the club! 50 vehicles get stolen per day here, and the voters are unwilling to do anything about it. Report it to the cops so they will get an alert if their cameras catch it, but it's probably already at a chop shop. Hope you're on of the few that get it back.

Sorry to hear that. My truck was stolen a few weeks ago while I was down there for work. The total loss team from State Farm told me that Houston and Chicago are the 1a and 1b for stolen vehicles these days.

Speaking of welcome to the club, are these things obsolete or are they now more relevant with the electronic theft protection overrides these days?

I always abide by make your vehicle the harder one to steal v others. Seems like thieves would not want to spend the time to remove.

And sorry for the OPs parents and prayers for their mother's treatment.

My boss recently had his truck stolen (2022 GMC 2500 diesel) from a hotel parking lot in Rockwall. Cops told him they see it a ton there... easy access on and off the freeway.

I think if I ever park at a hotel again, I'll add a club like above, and pull the fuse to the fuel pump and take it in with me.

My understanding is that is how you secure a fighter jet, but I do not have first hand experience.

I may add a club to the "go bags" in the car in case shady parking is encountered. Was curious as to whether they are effective (again).

In the old days, they were defeated by using a hacksaw to cut through the steering wheel. Then, steering wheels were the wheel and maybe had cruise control buttons. Now, steering wheels are elaborate and expensive to replace. Likely don't want to damage something that valuable.

I use one of these now after my 17' Sierra was stolen. *******s. I hope thefts get a life time of kidney stones that are on the worst degree.

Have a family member in Dallas that uses one. Truck was broken into, so he had some damage (including to the steering wheel when they tried getting it off), but the truck wasn't stolen.

Sorry to hear. When I luckily got most of my truck back I had a Ravelco installed and bought this steering wheel lock.

A coworker uses one on his '03 Corolla. I personally would be more concerned that someone would steal the club and leave the car.

Which hotel? I might drive my f150 there, park it and hope.

It's a POS and Ford won't fix it.

I've owned a 99 and a 2012, both good trucks, but this thing, a 2023, is garbage.

a few years ago I laughed when I saw a Club on a brand new F250 parked at the airport.

Since then I've had two trucks stolen and a third attempt on my current K1500. I now have a Club in each of my cars.
