On a different note, be advised the Consumer Reports recommends skipping the 2023 year model for the F150. Given how bad the GM trucks have been, you can either give Ram a shot or consider a Titan, which will be the most reliable and should be discounted off MSRP quite a bit.

Why does CR recommend skipping 2023 F150?

ETA after some googling looks like low predicted reliability but without a subscription I don't know the specifics. I've had good luck in the past with F150's and the 3.5 EB. Hoping the same with my 2023. I can't put the toothpaste back in the tube.

I absolutely love heated/ventilated seats.
Im with you.

I dont know if I can drive a vehicle without AC in the seats ever again. Im officially spoiled...but that is a game changer in Texas.

I can do cloth with no butt blowers, but I'll never buy leather again without it.

I'm still having trouble understanding this part. You might be able to get that if you go Dodge, but I don't think Chevy and Ford are discounting that much.

Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie

you can do that with a fully loaded Nissan Titan Pro4x and get 0% financing right now. the 5.6 V8 is a great engine.

Not going to list all of the places that I have found Chevy Trucks
discounted form $8K to $12K. But here is one example:

Ancira Chevy, San Antonio, TX -- Look It Up.

Chevy 1500 LT's, w/V8 - $10K to $12K off of sticker price
Chevy 1500 RST's, w/V8 - $9K to 11K off of sticker price

I will buy a new truck anywhere in the state of Texas. You must look everywhere.
Find the larger dealers that have at least 200 of the Chevy 1500's in total inventory.

Ancira - Has 144 LT's and 57 RST's in total inventory.
They have a grand total of 290 of the Chevy 1500 trucks in their total inventory.
Find the larger dealers who have Pain Points with inventory.

Deals are out there - you just have to do your research.

Not sure about Ancira Chevy specifically, but the Ancira dealerships in general are notorious for discounting off MSRP and then making up for it with insanely priced dealer add-ons like a $3k pinstripe and $2k paint protection. Red McCombs does the same thing. It's how a lot of the San Antonio dealerships compete with each other on advertised price.

For long-term reliability in a new truck, the Nissan Titan is really your only option right now. What a strange time to be alive.

1. F150 Powerboost - 3.5 with 7200 watts onboard power generation, plus added HP and Torque for towing or just passing people on the highway. Ford give you the best value in technology. Base Lariat is the perfect package for the price. Best towing and payload capacity.

This x5000.

Had them all. Started buying Rams back in the late '80s when they went to the Peterbilt look. Was ranching at the time and always bought a one ton diesel, which was a helluva truck. Never had a problem.

Retired now and have been buying half ton Rams with the hemi. Love them. Had a brief flirtation with F150 eco -boost but almost got killed getting on the freeway. I returned to the hemi.

I have the Longhorn addition. I would put the interior up against any vehicle's interior. Extremely comfortable to drive. Our preferred means of travel on any trip. Before you go buy something drive a Ram. Then go to your local livestock auction barn and see what the boys are driving. No Tundras even though the pavement princess will last…on pavement. Surprisingly few GMC because they will not survive a pasture. Good many Fords but a whole lot of Rams. The boys know. Good luck

The boys.

Its REALLY hard to argue this. And the irony is that Nissan has, by far, the best warranty -- 5 years, 100K miles. That is BUMPER TO BUMPER, not just powertrain.

Nissan has its issues, but Titan is not one of them.

That's not true at all.

It's not even kinda true… maybe it is for modern engines bc most of them are ****, but I def doesn't beat Toyota v8s..

And historically it isn't even in consideration

Love it. Ive got the 6.5ft bed as well. Great ride while towing with the extended bed.

My stock tires are about done. Plan is to throw some
Bilsteins on the front and level up the front. Add some ridge grapplers or open country's.

I leveled my front and went with Nitto's. Love them so much.

Here are the exact parts/details if you want to save a ton of time and research. Even shows exactly what tires/offset to get so you can see how much your tires will stick out.

Go drive them all and pick which one you like the most, based on whatever it is you're looking for. Asking the internet will lead you to infinite conclusions and ultimately no conclusion of your own. I think all new vehicles are going to have their issues, good reviews, and bad reviews. It seems like buying a new vehicle is more or less a roll of the dice so get what you like.

Are dealers coming off Sticker by $10k? I haven't seen that.

I just bought a 2023 Ram 1500 Bighorn Crew Cab 4x4 for 10k off sticker. It takes some work but it is done.
Local dealer in KC is advertising $12k off MSRP on 1500 Ram Bighorns. No clue on what factory options and dealer "add on's" are in their price. Sure seems like prices are returning to normal.

The problem is that the MSRPs are complete joke. $12K off and they're still grossly overpriced.
