Fun trip to MERUS this weekend!

Their trails run the gambit from easy roads/creek beds to massive boulders.

Beautiful views from the campsite & space for the kids to run around.

CV decided it was time to depart, but they're quick to swap and cheaper than a diff.

Very comfortable, breezy. Rain Friday night, temp in the 60's. 70's Saturday night.

Looks like a fun trip and don't recall hearing about this place, so I looked it up. Lots of options to visit, so we might have to add it to the calendar.

If y'all aren't aware of our YouTube channel some fairly big stuff has been happening recently.

We hit 1,000 subs which is allowing us to monetize. We've been moving from pure car reviews into more camping/off-road gear and vehicle stuff.

Just posted a comparison of the different ignik offerings.

Also if you follow a lot of YouTube auto content you might recognize these guys. Hoping for a chance to do some collaboration but we'll see. For now you might just see us in some of their upcoming content

We make an appearance in this one! They use Brian's Sasquatch trailer to test towing on their way from Fort Worth to Colorado

Deja vu moment: doing research on a camp fire solution and watched your video. Half way through and I was dude, I've seen that cat before! I've seen this video before! Then it clicked back to this thread.

Specific to this thread, we've moved on from the roof-top tent days. Pick up the van next week with a quick shake-out trip over Hood and to Bend. Then hitting the road up to BC/AB then back down through WA, ID, MT, WY, UT, NV and CA for 3 months. Have to be back in-time for my daughter to start K! I've got some sick spots scoped on Dyrt / iOverland, but if anyone has lat/longs I'll take them! After that, I'm coming for all your primo parking spots at your favorite ski hill.

Into the TexAgs void, but holy **** is this thing amazing. We're on the road in the west until September when my daughter starts K. I'm so excited.

4th of July trip. Up top of Engineer Pass

Saw an ER in Telluride. Still don't think I've ever seen one on dirt

Neat.

I've seen some of those overland we rigs in Big Bend actually out on the trails. Then again many of those can be done in a Subaru quite comfortably. There are exceptions.

They actually closed parts of Big Bend ranch in the Solitario to vehicles not long ago because idiots in long wheel base trucks kept getting stuck in places that made them very difficult to extract. Yeah, long wheel base vehicles do not do well in terrain with steep arroyos to cross. They get high centered or dig their bumper into the bottom of a steep channel. Bummer because any built jeep or 4Runner or similar could easily make it to some cool places.

We've been on Hood for a few days figuring things out and getting away from the valley heat wave. Heading north this week: Helens, Rainier, North Cascade and all the MTB in-between.

Quick trip to test out camping with a 7 month old, and my wife was not a fan of my route picking. Spent a few miles on forest roads just as wide as my truck with a pretty nice dropoff to the side, but the camp site was nice. We were close to Kenosha Pass and our site was 10k, pretty nippy when we got up.

OVP's Mazama Layout. It's basic on upgrades, only suspension! We'll add on as the budget permits!

Again, we're not hardcore overlanders.

But a solid day of skiing on Hood and a MTB ride back to camp with the 5 year old daughter. We leave Tuesday for Redwoods, Yosemite, Tahoe and back. Plan is to disperse where we can, and bail on campgrounds as needed.

Hardcore is stuff gatekeeping weirdos worry about.

Looks pretty kick*** to me

Being out in beautiful areas enjoying nature is hardcore vs never using your stuff and flexing on IG.

Enjoy some mediocre trail footage with even more mediocre editing. Sorry for the crappy music, just trying to drown out my crappy driving instructions.

On our way home from Tahoe and finally "over landing."

Stopping over in Jefferson Wilderness and got into some trouble climbing a cinder cone to camp. Maxtrax got us out of some deep, loose volcanic rock that buried us on a high grade.

About 40 min. outside of Bend!

We're still doing our thing in a van around WA and OR. Laches were actually insane. Lucky to find a camp spot near the trailhead and avoid the traffic.
