Howdy all!

I have a 2014 Yukon XL with the very common torque converter shudder. I've done some "research " online and found several folks who used HP Tuner to adjust the TCC lockup parameters. My transmission is making no noise and I'd like to give it a try.

Does anyone know where I can find a shop or helpful soul that could do this for me near C-Stat? I'm not looking for free, and I'm a former ASE master certified mechanic, so I understand the risks.

Why not just buy HPT and do it yourself? I'd suspect it'll cost close to the same to have a shop do it and you still have HPT to adjust other parameters (like disabling AFM) in the future if you want.

You'll be out ~$500 to buy HPT and the license credits. It's pretty easy to use for what you're wanting to do. Bluecat transmission tool worked well for me when I went with a higher stall converter and is free. It'll give you the parameters you need to enter in HPT.

Most shops will charge you $100 for a license (even if they get it free) and then an hour of time for the "tune". I'd expect to pay $250.

Long ago at the advice of Silvy, I had Nelson performance tune the ECU for my company issued GMC Sierra. I mailed it off Thursday afternoon and had it back on a Tuesday. Removed all the torque management and crisped up the shifts and removed speed limiter and tightened up throttle response. It was great.

I should look into that. Once I had my rebuilt trans in, my tune needed some tweaking and I had tuner make it get out of lockup with less throttle input.

Since he corrected the trans tune, the lockup works great in tow/haul and cruise control but holy **** it unlocks too easily if not in tow/haul or cruise control lol
