Fabian is doing my windows on Monday, and I'm considering getting the windshield done as well with clear ceramic. My question is "how do you deal with changing the registration sticker?" I'm assuming you can't scrape it without damaging the film.

It peels off just fine. I usually dog ear a corner so it's easy to grab.
The last couple of times I've changed stickers I've needed to scrape or use a lot of alcohol to get the glue off. If that's not an issue with the ceramic film I'd probably do it for that reason alone.
Had a little glue left on this last one and goo gone and a paper towel did the trick.
I buy a static cling for inspection stickers on Amazon. Peels off the tint no issue.
FYI: your windshield can't have any cracks or repairs.
I use these to remove the old stickers. They dull quickly, but they don't scratch the tint.

Don't do an absolutely clear film, 70% is safe bet. I'll go closer to 60% next time and racetrok will eventually get 50% or darker

What's point in putting a clear shield on? I did 50% on my w/s and I'll never not have it on future vehicles and 5% all around the rest. It's amazing right now during summer it's dark enough that I don't ever even have to wear sunglasses when driving during day.
Anything except clear is illegal in Texas. Clear gets you the benefit of ceramic on likely your largest piece of glass. Really helps keep the temps down while still being legal and not impacting your ability to see at nightaggiecody06 said:

Thank you captain obvious…..clear will not impact temperatures for the price it costs to install it. So for $100+ to have clear ceramic coat installed on w/s for maybe 1-2* difference…what's the point?

As someone mentioned, static stickers. Usually the place doing the tint will give you some but they are cheap to buy as well.
My concern on the windshield is living in Houston gonna get so many chips and cracks that likely to replace windshield in just a few years so is it worth it for 3 years? 4 years?

70% transparency it considered clear for ceramic tint, at least with Xpel which is what i have. The amount of tint (transparency) doesn't have an impact on film performance. I notice a pretty big difference between my car w/ ceramic tint, including the windshield and the one w/ regular tint and nothing on the windshield.aggiecody06 said:

My parents and sister left their cars at my place while they are in Europe. Getting in and moving their cars around in this heat feels like a sauna. My truck is barely warm.
They have no tint on the windshield, I have clear ceramic. It makes a difference in my experience.

This man is 100% correct. And 70% is legal in MOST all states too, should you move and get harassed.
Mine has it, and you can hardly tell, but it still blocks out 90% or more of UV rays, heat, etc. It's amazing.
Gonna have to flush the toilet, but that's one expensive poo.
I dropped it off this morning and decided to go with the 70% ceramic for the windshield.

How much money does something like this cost?
Does the ceramic windshield tint give you that faint grid pattern when wearing polarized sunglasses?
I've not noticed the faint grid in either my car or truck, but it's very rare that I even need to wear sunglasses when driving.
To tint windshield usually runs $125-150. If you're not willing to drive up to Fabian, M2 Customs in Santa Fe also does good tint work.

Not the windshield but everything else, $300 for 70% ceramic (would have been $160 for the regular stuff). This is for a Nissan Sentra.

Have had clear installed on my windshields for 20 years. 1-2 difference? Lol.
I guess ignorance is bliss.
Clear ceramic with UV blocking makes a substantial difference - it's great on pano sunroofs as well

Yes he put one on a small pantry window that didn't have an AC vent. Dramatically helped.
