Took F150 in for an oil change and they said my front and back brakes needed work

Oil change + brake work was going to be about $1,600

Any other mechanics you'd recommend in cypress area that are trustworthy? I'd love a second opinion and quote.

I've seen Todd's Auto Care recommended before but think their focus might be Toyota/Lexus and not Ford.

Telge automotive - good prices, sometimes gets backed up.

Webb's - not cheap but honest.

Second telge automotive. Good honest folks.

Define "needs work"?

If it's just pads, anyone can do that job under a shade tree. The hardest part of the job might be jacking the truck up.

YouTube is your friend if you have concerns.

Thanks, looks like I'll be calling Telge on Monday!

New baby and lack of automotive experience, I don't trust myself with something like brakes.

Probably for the best. If you do them yourself, you'll most likely die in a fiery crash…

Corbs on Grant near Louetta

Keep in mind, I've built/assembled SBC and did most the wrenching on my race cars and our personal vehicles. But when it got too involved or special tools were required, Corbs is where I dropped off or cars/trucks.

(edit to add)

And yes, brakes are easy.

Also... For $1600 it would help to know more detail about what they are proposing to do? New pads and rotors on all 4 wouldn't be that high, I wouldn't think, but maybe. Things have gotten crazy expensive.

Corbs is easier to make an appointment to drop off the car than Telge. Both do good work.

I chime with the others. What is "needs work"?

Todd's is great but is more expensive than the dealership.

He quoted me 2956 dollars for a timing belt in my LS430.

I don't understand how an F150 needs 1600 dollars in front brake work. I usually bill half that for front and rear with new pads and rotors and a system bleed with premium parts.

Third for Telge Auto.

Been taking my Fords to Robert for years to do brake work, water pumps, things I don't want to mess with. He also did the Bilstein 5100's on my 2016 F150.

Tell Robert the TexAgs Auto board recommended him.

Another rec for Telge automotive. He took care of my 100k mile punch list for the 2016 f-150.

Telge is replacing the radiator on my wife's QX56 as we speak.

I heard him on the phone today with someone about their radiator, cap, hoses, etc.

Thanks for the recommendation everyone. I took it there and he said there were a few things that looked good in his opinion that the other place said should be done.

He agreed the brake work should be done but he was significantly cheaper.
