I would trust the Ford 5.0 over the GM 5.3. Delete any option for auto-start stop. The 5.0's were pretty dang reliable. I had two. They both made over 150K with zero issues before I traded one for another new one. I know a lot of people who have had issues with the GM 5.3.

Toyota now copy catting Ford with V6 boost, reliability remains to be seen. I just can't believe how stupid Toyota was to only offer the Sequioa in a hybrid where the batter pack virtually eliminates any practicality to the rear storage. Dumbest move by Toyota maybe ever. If they just offered the Sequioa in a non-hybrid the rear storage would be normal. Is that too much to ask?

Not 100% true, Toyota also went with a solid rear axle instead of IRS which the Expedition has had for 20 years and the Suburban/Tahoe went to in the newest generation. it lowers the load floor and enables much better 3rd row legroom and fold flat seats.

the new sequoia was designed to replace the land cruiser in the US - a solid rear axle, smaller, 3rd row SUV with off road capability. Adding a hybrid V6 is just Obama waving his hand over this. I'm sure someone would actually want the V8 in an offroad vehicle.

The new Lexus TX and "Grand" Highlander are to be their "people hauler" big 3rd rower going forward. However, neither will be able to pull your 30' travel trailer or huge boat.

Also agreed on inventories getting up there. My Ford dealer down the street is offering $5k off MSRP on just about every single new vehicle. F250s are still hard to find, but they have 100 F150s in all sorts of trims with $5k+ off MSRP.
