I'm a Ford man and owned a gen 2 once. It was a good truck and lasted 200K when i traded it in with the phaser rattle. Still ran fine. Gen 2 also had paint delamination problems, so watch for that.

I'd probably go with Sequoia, but if it has the 4.6 V8, you must replace the timing belt and water pump with Toyota parts unless you KNOW its been done recently.

If the Ford is significantly cheaper, consider it, but make sure you KNOW it has had regular oil changes which is the key to avoiding timing chain issues.

4.6 is a timing chain like the 5.7.

The older 4.7 was a belt that requires changing at 100k.

It's the 4.7 liter.

I called my mechanic. He quoted me $1,100 for the timing belt, water pump, tension road replacement and all the fluids.

I thought gen 2 Sequoia only had the 5.7.

Looks like tge first 5 years they offered the small v8.
