Anyone ever been? Do they really guarantee it in 10 minutes?

The total amount of time spent there is dependent on if there is a line. Once you are in the bay, it's typically 5-10 minutes.
The thing is, many will "find" problems that must be addressed immediately our your car will blow up at the next stop sign. I'm going to Rule 1 soon, and I've already decided I'm done taking my vehicles to get the oil changed. I'm tired of getting it done and them come out and try to upsell me on everything. I did my own oil changes on my old truck and it was running like the day I drove it off the lot when Ol' Boy decided he sat at the stop light long enough and wanted to get t-boned. Truck had 165k miles on it.robertcope said:
I guess I understand wanting to get it done fast, but for a lot of cars, the oil change is the only time a mechanic will get to take a look at it all year long. Personally, I'd consider it like a yearly checkup with your doctor or something and let a shop take a look. They might just catch other issues you haven't noticed.

It also gives me a reason to get a bigger jack and impact wrench.

Phillips head through the lower side of the can, then use as a torque lever to remove.

5 minutes for the oil change, 5 weeks in the shop repairing the damage they'll do
He has a cartridge filter. It should have a raised area on the top for a 32mm wrench or you can get a fluted cartridge wrench. Can't say I've ever been able to take a cartridge filter cap off by hand but I have the hand strength of a 1yr old girlLOYAL AG said:mm98 said:

Won't work for his car. He us a VW Golf and the filter is in a housing but the filter itself isn't the typical metal cylinder like every other car I've had. The housing is reusable.

Took my f150 there once, waiting in the vehicle sucked because it was August (didn't think about that ahead of time, lol). Took wife's car there once, but they said they didn't stock a filter for a jetta. So, haven't been back, since I sold the truck and got a tesla
When did this become a thing? I have a place run by 'a dude' where I live. It's like a drive through paperwork mill. You drive in, show him your insurance, he prints the paper and you pay and drive off. No one looks at jack ***** Cats gone, no emissions, my diesel exhausts the CCV out the rear behind the cab like my 1976 International tractor.....zero f--- given. It's like the only requirement is that it come in under it's own power. This may be a holdover from COVID and if so, it's a good one.Picard said:
I only go there for state inspections. They don't check squat and you get to stay in your vehicle.
A BS process for a BS government requirement.

No car I've ever owned or serviced was finished draining oil in 5-8 minutes. They are changing most of your oil, but not all of it. These are the type of places that cause the issues highlighted on the thread with the Hyundai needing a new engine.

Who changes the oil on the Tesla?
