I've had T1 diabetes most of my life, but the things I wanted to do were always planned for someday, or eventually.lotsofhp said:
I'm on the same side as all of you when it comes to spending but the thought does occur to me from time to time that I may come to the end of my life and wish I had pulled the trigger on fun more often.
5 years ago I was diagnosed with the same type of cancer that killed my dad. I had been thinking about buying a Raptor for 4 years at that point (didn't have a chance due to it not being offered 2 of those years), but 3 months after the diagnosis, there was a Raptor in my garage, the previous vehicle was 12 years old. I also took a vacation for the first time in many years a few months later. Since then, I have gone to Ireland, I went when I was 8 to visit my grandparents and wanted to return ever since. I will be going again in 6 months. I have also taken several other trips that I wanted to do "someday".
I am fortunate that I do not have any debt and a good job. That gives me flexibility that many do not have, but I do occasionally buy a new toy now.
