We can't find anything that doesn't have $2k - $5k market adjustment added to MSRP. That would put him far upside down which he hates.

I know someone that bought a VW Taos in Houston with no market adjustment. I can't remember which dealer though. If he wants a VW, I will get more info.

Upside down means he owes more than it's worth. With used cars selling higher than new MSRP you're not necessarily upside down due to market adjustments. Buying with $0 down and 72+ month loans is how you get upside down. It's got to take years to unwind the supply chain issues.
That said, aggiepaintrain has a Toyota hookup if he's willing to go Toyota. $250 over msrp

Someone needs to bump this in a couple years when they are begging for a bailout.

Beck and Masten has been buying new Tellurides from other dealers and selling them as used for way over new prices.

Y'all aren't kidding about market adjustments being crazy. I talked to a dealership this morning who is marking up some models almost 25% - even for cars that are "in transit."
I ordered a Telluride paying MSRP and had it shipped to Sterling Kia in Bryan after trying to deal with Beck and Masten.maroon barchetta said:jja79 said:

I'm willing to wait or go out of town if it saves me money. I'm looking at Corollas, Elantras, and Fortes, and I can afford to walk if I don't want to deal with markups.Quote:
Avoid that mark up by ordering from a reputable dealer and wait a period of time.

Troll Faceborg marketplace for a wine aunt selling a Toyota or Honda. Then pay a mechanic to do a full scan and body check.
Best deals right now are just as always: single owner direct sale.
