I'll be looking for order a 2023 F250 (King Ranch).

The thread I mentioned answered my question about how deposit/payment usually works (thanks!).

I drive a 2005 F150 and have always gone the used route, so this is new territory for me

That said, my other questions are:

- Sounds like the 2023 250 should be "revealed" relatively soon (next month or two) with the order bank opening up afterwards - does that sound right?

- Given I'm looking for custom build King Ranch, I should be prepared for 6-8 month wait/build time - is that inline with reality?

- Who are the recommended Texags Ford dealers/hook ups? I'm in smallish town, so the local dealer will likely be a no-go. I don't want to deal with BS - just good communication, fair prices, and great service.

Buck "reproag" at Appel Ford in Brenham is who I went with a couple months ago. Great experience and am planning on ordering through him again as soon as the Bronco orders open back up. This is coming from someone who up until that HATED car salesmen.

+1 for Buck, have a '22 superduty ordered thru him, should be here in Sept. Everything went smooth, got honest answers to questions, easy process, would go thru him again

Ordered my F-350 super duty diesel….DRW Lariat on 3/11. Ford sent email a couple of weeks ago to tell me it is being built the week of 8/15. I have no idea how quick the delivery will be.

Also FWIW, I placed my order on a '22 F250 Lariat on 2/15 and picked it up from the dealership on 5/25. Just to give another data point for reference.

I've bought every truck from Tommie Vaughan and 1ags contact. Since I cannot fathom how it could possibly be easier, better, or cheaper anywhere else, I'm just not willing to roll the dice with a salesman from somewhere else. Not even going to inquire.

Yes. All the options except for bedliner and wheel well liners.

You have two very good recommendations. I would also give BIll Fick a call in Huntsville. He may have someone else spec it for you, but he will quote it.

Getting your ducks in a row is the smart play

Rumor is Oct/Nov before it opens again and according to our Rep that was here today Ford is anticipating the order bank to close in a matter of months (like 3-4 months) after it opens due to demand. If that happens or not we will have to wait and see but I have more people waiting on a SD then anything else since it's been closed for the longest time period.

I would guess pretty soon. They just leaked a new 6.8L gas engine though. Which I'll probably trade my 6.7 diesel in for. Just don't haul heavy anymore and the price of diesel compared to gas is stupid.

The 6.8L will replace the 6.2L SOHC.

Fleet buyers complained for years about the "complexity" of the Modular and OHC Motors, even though the later 5.4V8/6.8L V10 were very solid and were used in shuttles and even Amazon Step vans until 2020.

Govt/Fleet love pushrod robust simple stuff, and the 6.8L will fit the bill. This also may or may not be trickling into the F150 and Mustang later.
