My 18-year-old is interested in attending a Performance Driving Program. In all fairness to him, his driver training up to this point has all been with me, and I am a quite risk-averse, female driver. His father is a deceased veteran, so having his dad teach him how to drive like a man is not an option.

But my son has recently researched how to enhance his driving skills and gained interest in attending a performance driving program. The nearest programs he's found to CS are in Houston. In particular, he's interested in Hooked On Driving's program.

Just wondered if anyone has experience with Houston-area performance driving programs. Is Hooked on Driving a good one? Is there a better one?

ETA: misread and thought you were in Houston. There may be better options in Austin at Track of the Americas.

This teen driving class offers practical skills.

The BMW and Porsche regional member clubs usually host a teen driving school. Looks like this year there is one in Southlake and another in Kyle,TX

And for a different type of driving, there is a rally racing school just east of Lockhart. I still need to check it out some weekend

Have signed my 18 yo daughter up for the Southlake one. She's a pretty good driver, but think it will be a good experience for her.

Try Chin Track Days or The Drivers Edge.
