Local high end dealer has a 1988 Ferrari Testarossa for sale with documented 4,350 miles.
Saw it last week when looking at Merc C300's.
Called around and got some history on the car. First I told the wife I would sell the 360, sell BMW use proceeds to fund the TR purchase. Buy an old Honda Accord for a daily.
But after talking with local shop that last serviced the car (and he does mine as well), he said the car is perfect but if you want to buy this car and drive it 2-300 miles a year, and look at it in your garage, then your fine. But the value in this car right now is in the low miles. If you start racking up 500-1000 miles a year, then you'll kill the value. If you want a TR to have/drive, then find something with more miles and you'll be way ahead financially in the long run. They are very reliable cars and parts can still be found (lots of Fiat parts still available)
Value of these is going up long term. They're actually great GT cars, service is not horrible, they are very reliable (solid electronics and Bosch mech fuel injection) and you can still find parts for them.
So then I told the wife I'm going to buy it as an investment (no, really) keep the 360 and put a lift in the garage to park them both.
She replied "you need to fix up the garage if you want two Ferrari's, ours looks too crappy"!
Still trying to decide if it was all actually a dream I was having.
