2008 F150

Opened the sun roof and it opens and closes fine but it doesn't pop up to seal when I bring it back to close it. Guessing it is just off the track or something. Anyone have any recommendations on where to take it besides a dealership?

I used this place years ago for my Expedition:

It was about a third of what the dealer quoted. They did a good job for me, but their current Yelp reviews don't look great.

That guy has been around a loooong time. Something like 40 years.

He did my windshield, headliner, and door card re-upholstery and did a damn good job. I can't speak to the sunroof side of his business, but I was impressed with the work on the other bits and wouldn't hesitate to go by there

Had a 2007 F150 - Sunroof stopped working after 6 years or so. Wouldn't "seal" upon closing.

Do you know a good body shop? They deal with sunroofs a lot. I took my F150 to one I've used over the years and talked to them about what's wrong with it. It's one of two things.
1. broken brackets (easier fix)
2. Motor/unit burned up (entire unit needs to be replaced)

Mine was #2 - estimated over $1500.

Asked the body shop if they could close it and lock it in place. Disconnect the power. They took care of it for under $100 cash. Sunroof never worked again, but no noise/leaks for the remaining 3 years I owned the truck.
