Body shop quoted $1100 (basically said that they didn't want to do it and that I should check with upholstery shops). Looking for recommendations.

One of my sons purchased some fabric... removed the existing and failing headliner... replaced it with the fabric... in around three hours. The vehicle was an Extera (sp).

Have you considered replacing it yourself and saving $1050?

lol, yes, I considered it and watched a few videos to get a feel for the effort. I really just don't want to bother with it (spend my time that way) for a car that's 13 years old.

I've seen mentions of upholstery shops in other cities that charge significantly less, e.g. $200-300 or so. I'd happily pay that to save me from the bother. If I was young, I'd get after it. But, these days, there's almost no job that I won't pay someone else to do (unless I enjoy it, lol).

I've used Advanced Window Tint in Lampasas for 5 vehicles. Might be worth the 45 min drive north to save some money. I've found their tint prices to be pretty competitive too if you need that done

They're in the $200-300 price range. I usually bring my own fabric and it runs ~$100. Like you, I've decided my time is worth more than the $100. Cleaning the old foam off is tedious and messy
