Once you get up to $200k incomes, it's much more manageable
Yeah but... even at $200K that $900+ car payment is still a struggle when your mortgage is $5,500.

Was in Houston / Galveston last week. The dream of selling my way out of Los Angeles and paying cash is Texas is looking pretty attractive about now.
Things in Cali must be real bad if visiting Galveston persuaded you to leave.
Think of everything that would theoretically be available to me in LA County and the best time I've had in a year has been in Galveston County. On the Island at the Stuttgarden Tavern and on the mainland at Hugh & Jeff's Barwash in Dickinson.

Yeah, Cali is pretty tragic.

It's starting to come back to earth this week. Problem in the last 4-5 weeks is that other dealers were willing to pay the stupid prices at auction then pass those bad decisions to consumers. We're starting to see longer days supply on the retail side due to over inflation and lower high bids (lots of no sales) this week at auction.

Do you think prices will return to somewhat normal levels by mid fall / October? Been holding off buying a car for a few months but doubt I'll wait much beyond fall. Thanks.

I could sell my 2013 f150 and be fine for the next 4 or so months, anyone think it will level off by then? I wouldn't hate getting 22 grand for it.

Convertible, Auto. MMR is at $22k. Corvettes are more stupid than trucks.

Clean vert! Good luck! I am kind of looking for an 08-13 z51 coupe to have for a track car so the rougher the better.

People that make 200k a year have a 5,500 per month mortgage? Holy cow.
We live in a modest but nice rock house on 2 acres in West central Comal CO that we remodeled and has been paid for for 15 years or so. Back when Mz R and I were still working, we weren't able to itemize our deductions for tax purposes and therefore had to pay more at filing time. We were empty nesters and MZ R brought up buying a larger house for the interest deduction. My response was OK we go from a no house payment situation to a $3000/ month house payment of which $2500 plus goes toward interest each month and give a mortgage co $30,000 a year so we can itemize and save the $5000 we have to pay in extra income tax ........not to mention the doubling or more of our property taxes......WE WILL DIE IN THIS HOUSE.
LOL! Classic female buying logic. That is my wife on buying clothes:

Wife: "Honey, guess what! I saved us $100 today! I had $500 of clothes I needed in my cart....but if I spent $1000 then I saved $100!"

Me: "So, instead of spending $500 you got a $1,100 worth of clothing for $1,000?"

Her: "Yes!"

Me: "So, you spent $1000 instead of $500 to get $100 off?"

Her: "Yes, but I saved us $100!!!"

Me: "You still spent $500 more than you needed to so you didn't save us anything. You cost us $500."

Her: [blank look].....

Are you me?

Ha, pretty sure the vast majority of males on this site can relate.

Even beat up ones are going for stupid prices. Love the LS3 Z51 though. Great value. I'd wait a bit though unless you need one ASAP.

Dealer offered me 10k for my 2010 Silverado with 167k miles. Pure insanity right now
