I love that site, but the values are completely bonkers on everything.
Case in point:

6,500-Mile 1998 Chevrolet Silverado K1500 4x4

Should be done in a couple weeks. Lots of new maintenance parts, steering, suspension, a/c, new leather, new tires etc. paint will still suck. It will look good from 10-20' though. GM paint sure doesn't age well.
It's a 97 with 168k
I can't wait to retire. I'm going to build stupid sh\t like this every damn dayStillNotAnAggie said:

My 99 2 door's paint is roached. Clear coat is slowly bubbling and flaking away. It looks somewhat ok from 20'. Paint is on my list after the trans gets rebuilt again.JB said:ILikeTacos said:Let me know when you want to sell it. Seriously.JB said:

They do, it's called a Raptor lol. They can get way more money out bros when it's jacked up and has a back seat.lotsofhp said:
Those lightnings were bad ass trucks back then
Would be cool to see Ford make one again
The raptors are LOL slow compared to the lightnings of that generation. Plus the supercharged 5.4 with 4.10 gears in the rear got a lot of instantaneous torque to the ground which made them a lot of fun. The sound of the V8 with that loud eaton blower was hard to beat.drumboy said:They do, it's called a Raptor lol. Weren't the 01s around $35K? I know it was 20 years ago but that was doable on a new grad budget. I had a coworker buy one a couple years out of A&M and I thought it was crazy but he made it work and I'm pretty sure he still has it and it still looks new.
Blows my mind the prices they're bringing these days. I bought my 2003 with ~20k miles for $18k in 2006. Sold it in 2011 for $14k w/80k miles having run many of those with a Kenne Bell. I thought I did well on the sale, and figured it'd be more than 10 years before they started to appreciate. The Ghost of DUCK01 said:
Yeah, I've been watching them for a while. Being stock-ish and not ragged out, I'm expecting mid 20s. It's go for more if he would have taken the time to have the paint professionally done. Bad swirl marks in some of his pics.
Crazy, though, the thing still has the stock Eagles. The bed is probably trashed from the drop in liner, but It was 7k when I found it this afternoon and was already at 12k when I left work.
I want to say mine was $31,250 or something close when I bought it new in 2000.

Yeah I don't really see the Raptor as a replacement for the lighting.
Single cab truck with supercharged V8. Bad ass.
