So now the only Shelby that is factory offered is an Automatic....

I mean a 7 speed DCT isn't exactly your grandpa's automatic...still sad to see the GT350 go but the Mach 1 will probably be cool too.
the_batman26: I guess yall need this, its something to take pride in. At least the Feds trusted us with the Space Center; and I seem to recall the Feds not having the best time in Dallas.

sucks. such a randomly awesome thing for Ford to come out with that flat plane crank. it feels like the days are over.

no matter how fast and reliable electric becomes, it will never give the same satisfaction that a beautiful sounding v8, v10, etc do.

8200 NA RPMs mated you a manual will always be a timeless thing.

Is the GT500's engine using up the voodoo engine's plant capacity? That engine (and specifically the flat plane crank and other relatively minor changes off the Coyote) seems to be about the only major difference between the GT350 and the new Mach 1.

It's all pretty academic, but I'd bet by any measurable, the Mach 1 is going to be extremely close to the GT350. It won't have the sound though, which is a shame. Guess I'll have to save my pennies for a flat plane Z06 C8!

I hate to see it go, but it sure seemed like the youtubers that owned them had a lot of engine failures. Still a car I'd love to own one day, but I don't see them going down in value much going forward. They should have offered it with either the six speed manual or DCT and the GT 500 should be offered with either as well.

Yeah the DCT in the 2020 GT500 is no slushbox automatic. It has been getting rave reviews from new GT500 owners. It can be shifted in manual mode as well although it obviously doesn't have a shifter poking up from the floor.

I wouldn't be surprised to see an announcement of a BOSS mustang to replace the GT350. Ford does this rotational thing with the sub-models. The GT500 was dropped after 2014 and reemerged in 2020. The Mach 1 recently came back after being shelved for years. The last BOSS was revived for 2012-2013 after being dormant since 1970. The BOSS and GT350 are both purpose-built for road courses so I expect the BOSS to be back soon replacing the GT350. It will probably have a DCT though. That transmission is just amazing. I can't wait to get my hands on one and I'm an avowed stick shift guy that owns a 2013 GT500.

Maybe the GT500 will be offered with one eventually.

In the mean time all of us "row your own" Shelby owners be like....

The whole "manual vs auto" thing is so weird. Some people want manuals in their sports cars. And thats ok. Some people want the DCT because they think tech is cool, or they are serious about the track.

Whatever.

Please give those who want a driving experience a manual. Give the track junkies the DCT. Problem solved. There's no reason to get all weird or defensive about DCT vs Manual.

Way to go Ford. Now you can make more white F150's.....

When the Mach 1 was announced and it had the transmission and handling pack from the GT350, it basically confirmed the 350 was ending. Mach 1 keeps the NA track oriented option between the GT500 and GT, while using the cheaper Coyote engine in lieu of the 5.2L.

Looks like the Heritage Edition at the Sealy dealer was already gobbled up. Might have to snoop around and see what is available
