My girlfriend came home today and the car wouldn't fully turn off or back on. She pulled into the garage, put the car in park, hit the starter button to turn off the engine, got out of the car and shut the door. This is when she noticed the radio was still on which never happens. We tried turning the electrical off again but doesn't work. Tried turning the engine back on but it clicks once and does nothing. Just flashes a warning that Ignition or Accessory On. In order to fully turn the car off we have to manually hit the starter button until it moves to off.

I checked all fuses related to battery or electrical parts and all were good. We also noticed the battery level is low at 10V, which makes me believe this might be a battery issue. These jeep batteries are out of my abilities to change so I hope we don't have to get it towed...

Anyone on the automotive board had this issue before? Is it battery or other electrical issue?

Battery...while the battery is below the passenger side seat there are still terminals under the hood that you can use to jump it off.

We had a pretty significant electrical issue with our 14 JGC. It never did what you're describing but it would disable the car, sometimes while driving. The issues would start with the info center scrolling through all the alarms/warnings, then the car would go into a limp type mode, eventually losing all power. The battery was checked, and good. After sitting over night, it would start up like nothing was wrong until it randomly popped up again. It did this to us multiple times and spend about 1.5 months in shop over 3 different occasions. The dealer was little help but it was all under warranty. The final diagnosis was that the radio was shorting out the main ground bus bar. It was replaced and we sold the car immediately so I'm not sure if it the final fix. Search YouTube and you'll see some videos of GC's having an electrical issue while driving.

I've googled and youtubed the issue and can't seem to find anything like this. My old roommate had a 2014 GC Overland that had major electrical issues like yours did. My brother had a GC as well that had electrical issue...

Good luck. Really hope it's just a battery as the previous poster said. If you do have to replace it, I believe it's best accessed from behind the front passenger seat. Move it all the way forward. It's not a great setup and looks damn hard to get those terminals tightened down. Glad I didn't have to do it. I was able to return the new battery when the car started the next day.

My wife drives a 2013 GC. We have had it for three or four years & it has had almost as many batteries. Seems like anytime some electrical funkiness starts the battery tests as bad & is replaced under airports warranty. I usually do them myself. Move the passenger seat all the way up. Hardest part of the job is popping off the floor cover over the battery. Symptoms are usually that it will crank several times which would more so point to a bad starter or fuel pump. There is a recall addressing the issue but last time I checked "parts are not yet available". Throw a new battery at it & see what happens.

Don't drive it. I was driving my wife's 2012 Grand Cherokee on Beltway 8, and the instrument cluster starting lighting up, and the windshield wipers came on. After a few minutes of that, it completely shut down while I was going about 60. No hazard lights, no blinkers, no power steering, nothing. Had enough momentum to drift toward the shoulder. Wouldn't even let the key out of the ignition. I got out and flagged down a tow truck that was chilling under an overpass. It was an outstanding recall that we never got done because they never could get the parts for it. Had it towed to the dealership, they finally performed the recall work (something with the alternator), and that fixed it. But seriously, get it fixed, it's a death trap as is.

Best to disconnect it tonight so it doesn't catch on fire and burn your garage down.

And no. I'm not kidding.
