Under-hood insulation falling apart

My under-hood insulation has started to fall apart. A big chunk was missing when I opened my hood recently. I suspect the last shop that worked on my car pulled off the loose piece. I think it is made of some kind of soft fiberglass. Would the little pieces of fiberglass that fell off damage anything in the engine? I think a small piece of it fell into my alternator.

Ditch it for more racecar noises

In addition to noise reduction, it also helps in fire suppression should there be a fire under hood. The plastic tabs that hold it to hood will melt and allow the insulation to fall on the engine like a blanket to limit fire spread.

I prefer not to say exactly what I drive for privacy reasons, but how would it be relevant to my question?

Do you drive a La Ferrari or Veyron? If you drive a white F150, Accord, or any other normal car, posting what you drive isn't going to be the bit of personal info posted on the internet that unmasks your identity.

Different vehicles, different materials and fastening methods.

There is enough information in my original post to provide an answer. You don't need to know the fastening method to answer my question.

Assume the insulation is a fiberglass material. I looked it up to confirm.

Dude clearly drives a Icona Vulcano Titanium. Only one made (according to my trusty google search) so it's obviously easy to find him based on this information. Commence doxxing.

Go back to the last shop you went to and yell at them some. I'm sure they will replace it for you. Make sure you tell them a few times they were the.last.shop. to work on it....

Post later how it goes.

Once some of that fiberglass gets past your intake manifold, it'll head for the intake valve. If it stops and gets caught up on the intake valve, you'll need a top end rebuild. If it gets past intake valve, full rebuild/replacement.

You need to stop driving your exotic ASAP and let a pro tackle the job.

I never knew that the insulation would put out a fire. I pulled it off my Ram when it stated to get worn out...

It's just amazing how unhelpful and rude y'all are being. Explain to me how any additional information is needed to provide an answer.
