Any thoughts and experience on the new GMCs?

Really like the new AT4s with the 6.2L and 10spd transmission. Thinking of going to get one tomorrow if I can negotiate the right price

6.2 in the Yukon XL rental I had for a week was good and sounded great. 10spd took some getting used to but gave some good mileage for that ginormous truck.

Just got one last month. Love it so far. Let me know what questions you have.

Got mine a little over a year ago. No issues at all. Absolutely love it. 6.2L at4 with the 20's. As much as I liked the aggressive Goodyear's I wanted the extra 1" height on the 20" wheel/tire combo. Figured I can always put the BFG's on second tire set. Added the gm catback exhaust and it sounds awesome. Just hit 27,000 miles.

No questions in general. Life long F150 owner and I aim changing it up. Last 2 f150s haven't made 100k without repeated power train issues with me always keeping up with the maintenance and doing everything I can to keep it well maintained.

Was sold on dodge but then I test drove the AT4. Gave dodge a shot yesterday but they didn't want to negotiate much more than a penny from their initial price. GMC salesman is working with me on the price and hope to go pick it up this morning. We'll see

I've got the same setup. Just turned 4,000 miles yesterday.

I've got ~800 miles on mine and love it. I'm averaging 16.7 overall and I've seen about 19.2-19.7 on pure highway. I commute 99/I10 or cut through Fry Rd to I10 depending on time of day so morning and afternoon commute is a lot of stop and go.

Does the 6.2 require premium fuel?

Not an AT4, but I've got the 19 Trail Boss and I love it. I didn't spring for the 6.2 though.

It's recommended and I use premium.

I strongly considered the AT4 last year but wound up opting for a Silverado RST. The AT4 is sharp!

What specs does the 6.2 engine add to to towing, HP, etc? How much money for the upgrade?

I've been eyeing the AT4 for a while now. Looking to purchase maybe this year, or next. Kinda holding out for new tundra as long as I can. However, I am getting tired of waiting.

Curious what kind of OTD pricing yall are actually getting for the AT4?

I'm between the AT4, King Ranch f-150 and new Tundra platinum.

We'll all be dead and gone fore the Tundra gets a facelift.

The AT4 is the best looking truck on the road, in my humble opinion.

I'd have a hard time dropping the coin for one...but i like em

I would agree with this but with one small caveat.

Does anything think the wheels/tires (even the 20") look a bit small attached to that big truck?

no. 20 inch wheels are even too big. lack tire sidewall. but, most people's trucks are pavement princesses.

Mac-

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Depends on the tires.

This looks sharp:

These look a little small:

I'm about to swap out the 275/60/20 that came on it for something just a big larger and more aggressive, but I plan to keep the set up stock. Will probably just put BFG 285/65 or so on it.

This is my plan as well.

That's quite a bit bigger and I've read those won't fit. Let me know what you end up going with and how they fit.

I've read some conflicting stuff on the forums. I'm pretty sure a 285/60 is fine and the 65 seems a maybe. I've looked at it a little but planned to try and measure and see if I'd have a rubbing issue before doing anything. 275/65R20 looks like a guarantee on stock wheels and that gives you 1" in diameter without adding a lot of weight.

Found a guy with photos and proof a 35x12.5 will fit but man it barely clears. I'm not trying to come that close on clearing the liners. Just not trying to bro it up these days and it's already an AT4 and not a normal trim

I've seen people shoving 35's in there, but looking at the level kit websites they even say you can still only clear 275/60/20 with a level (can go bigger on the Chevy because of the wheel well design).

I'm hoping I can get 285/60/20 on there once I blow through these stock tires, but the thing rides so damn smooth that I may just go to a Toyo AT2 in the stock 275/60/20 size and be done with it. I'd like a little more width and height, but I don't want to deal with rubbing or trimming either.

Any particulars as to why y'all chose 20's over the 18's?

I keep looking online and the wrangler tires look good, but I'm just so used to seeing twenties on most trucks these days I can't tell which I like better
AggieSam02

The 20's are about 1" taller. That was my main reason. Figured I can go with a more aggressive tread on the second set but wanted the height.

#1 was the packaging I wanted was much easier to get on the larger wheel, i.e. they don't offer the tech package etc on the smaller wheel on many dealer builds as well as I wanted to larger wheel either way. I do like the design of the 18 though.

I have 295/60 Ridge Grapplers on a stock AT4 but had to do some minor trimming on the driver's side as it would rub at full lock. The main difference between the 20" and 18" is the top speed is limited to 112 mph with the 20" wheels and 98 mph with the 18's.

I think the trail boss is on the same lift as the AT4. My trail boss has 18s and I think they look fine.
