Good looking car. I'll say congratulations and not rain on your parade. The 3.6L engine had early timing chain issues, but GM made some changes in 2015.

edit to add that engine doesn't like extended oil change intervals. The oil life indicator runs off an algorithm and not actual oil condition. Don't go beyond that, use only DEXOS approved oil and keep your receipts.

Shouldn't you have asked BEFORE you bought one? My sister in law had one with bad oil consumption that ate a timing chain and then grenaded the motor at about 50k miles.

I hope you bought the extended warranty. Our 14 Acadia has been in the shop more than all the others cars we've had combined. AC problems front and rear, radio screen, numerous recalls, engine removed for multiple oil leaks, bad wheel bearings, and other stuff.

We went from a Tahoe, to a GMC Acadia, against my best advice, but that's what she was set on. In the last 6 weeks, we have taken 5 out of town trips for baseball, and suddenly, she wants the Tahoe back! I guess that's what marriage is like.

I wish we had gone with the Tahoe, but just because the Acadia is too short for my legs, and feels like I am driving a front wheel drive low powered volkswagon sometimes. I prefer the truck chasis of the Tahoe.

I hope the Traverse works out for you. When we were looking, the models they had out back then were like one big blind spot, with tires. I couldn't see anything when backing up, so I said NOPE!!!!

We ended up with an Acadia after looking at the Tahoe, traverse and acadia.

my thoughts:

Tahoe was too expensive and too big/heavy for city errand zipping

the traverse looks better than the Acadia

but the Acadia had the leather seats my wife was looking for
