Has this been discussed already? I did a search, but didn't see a thread. I'm at least intrigued. I've seen a couple on the road, they look pretty sharp. And of course, the no doors, no top possibility is interesting.

From ground level they look awesome. From the angle in that picture, they look odd.

That is an "unfortunate" wheel base length for a Jeep.

I have almost pulled the trigger a couple of times in the last 6 weeks, but I am waiting for the Bronco to compare the two.

Disagree

I think they are going to sell a ton of them.

Payload/towing numbers are pretty good on these. Can't help but think a standard cab might sell enough to be profitable for FCA.

Do you see alot of Tacomas, Colorados, Rangers, Frontiers, running around in standard cab form these days?

finally saw one in person and was meh about it.

Would be an awesome toy here in co, but for the price now couldn't stomach it. I think i've been around too many full and midsize to where it just looks funny narrow/short bed. I get why its that obviously, but i wouldn't off road enough with it to justify the short comings of it being a daily personally.

For the right person it'd be dope, i just dont think thats me.

I still haven't seen one in person. I was seriously considering one, but my 2010 GMC was getting a little long in the tooth and I decided I couldn't wait so I bought a 2019 GMC back in April. From what I could tell, the front seat room wasn't any different from that of a JLU and that just wasn't going to work for me as a bigger person with a nasty commute.

Since then, I've changed jobs with a 20-mile commute (one way) instead of a 42-mile commute (one way), but I've been averaging 22 mpg with a crap ton of room to boot. I'm still interested in the Gladiator, but I still need a proper truck for recreational needs.

Yes, I know that the username doesn't check out.

Now that I've seen them in person, not really a fan. The fact they want as much as a King Ranch F250 for one. is a pretty big turnoff too...

Needs a Hemi V8....then it would be a killer truck.

In all fairness, it would probably look ok with 37s on there.

Still think it needs 4-6" chopped off the back end.

Dodge is typically the least stingy of the big three when it comes to putting V8s in cars. I simply cannot fathom why they refuse to put anything bigger than a gutless naturally aspirated V6 in such a large vehicle. I know they're going to introduce a diesel eventually, but I'll believe it when I see it. I'm sure that engine option will be handicapped with an automatic only transmission.

I prefer a V8 as much as the next guy, but that gutless NA V-6 is rated at 285 HP, which should be plenty.

I love them more than any truck I've ever seen. Fight me

285 hp is sufficient hp for a big vehicle

260 ft/lbs of torque that peaks at 4,800 rpms is not sufficient for a vehicle that is that heavy, is more often than not paired with heavy tires/wheels, and has the aerodynamics of a brick.

Thus the reason for the comment. Jeep is different enough with more of an off-road image that I think many would value the shorter wheelbase of a standard cab with its improved maneuverability and breakover angle. They could even throw on a 6 1/2 foot bed and still reduce the wheelbase.

Jeep brought a 2-door Gladiator concept to this year's Easter Jeep Safari (called the J6) and it was very well received among the Jeep community.
