Wow! I did the exact same thing in my blue 2005 excursion 2wd! I had the third row seat out, folded, and in my storage unit. It had sat there for a few weeks, but I needed the seat so I went and picked it up and threw it in place, THEN unfolded the seat and there was a juvenile rattle snake coiled up bewtween the seat and seatback while it was folded!
Luckily for me it was a cool day and he was moving very slowly. I jumped back then started to try and figure out a way to get him out before he digs in to the truck and I never find him! I went and grabbed a towel and when I came back he wasn't on the seat anymore! I folded the rear seat and flipped it forward and luckily he was right underneath. I threw the towel on him and then kinda pitched/shoveled/flipped him out the back door!
The whole thing took less than a minute, but I knew if I didn't get him gone there would forever be that feeling that a rattler was going to climb up the back of my shirt or somthing similar everytime I drove that truck! lol
I was super lucky that was an early spring day and was still cool out. I don't think I would have tangled with a venomous snake if he had been up to temp!. He didn't even try to act aggressive with me. He could hardly move. He was pretty young too. Maybe 1.5/2 feet long at most.
Blue Excursions must attract snakes I guess!
