What is the least expensive way to replace a key fob? Last time, I went to the dealership (had to replace a key itself with the chip), and it was $$.

I don't need to replace a key - only the fob (is breaking apart).

I had to replace my wife's 2013 Infiniti fob and I got one on Ebay for around $60 and then paid maybe $120 at the dealership. I think I found a locksmith for maybe $80 but he didn't seem all that confident and Sewell gave me a free loaner to roll in for the afternoon and I might have kept it overnight.

If it's for your new older G I think you can program them yourself.

Yeah, it's for the new old car. I was going to go by vato-zone and see if they had the ones you could reprogram.

Yes. I have both keys; I don't need to replace them. Just the remote to lock and unlock.

03-05 remotes are cheap and plentiful.

You can buy new ones for less than 10 bucks each and dIy program them.

Google or amazon and see what you can dig up!

Ok, cool, thanks. That's what I thought I could do based on the limited research I had done.

Buy the shell and transfer the guts. If there is a chip, you can usually dig it out if you're careful and glue it into the new shell.

I think he has no remotes at all.

Keys have the Chip embedded in them and they work fine. He just needs a clicker.

Yeah, just need the clicker. $9 for 2 of them on Amazon. Easy enough.

Bump. Now need to do this on a 2016 Ford Mustang. Only came with one key fob.

Same process? It's a push button start. So, just to lock, unlock, and start the car.

I lost one and the dealer gave me the name of a guy who will do a new fob and programming for about $175. I'm about to use him...if I'm pleased with the outcome i'll post his info. Don't want to give our crappy leads if its a bad experience.

Well, I'm not in Texas, so that won't help me. Just looking to see if I buy a key fob on Amazon, will I be able to program it easy enough.
