Looking at getting either the Toyo R/T or Nitto Ridgegrappler. Any blockbuster deals coming up for LT tires?

I'm pretty sure Discount Tire will have 4th of July sales. That's what I'm banking on as I'm going to pick up some Terragrappler G2s for the F150.

Do they do labor day specials normally?

They did last year (https://www.discounttire.com/promotions/labor-day), so I'd assume so.

Store managers have some discretion to extend the sale dates. Just talk to your store and let them know what you want.

I actually paid for my wheels and tires over the phone to get the dates for the sale, and came in a week later to get them installed.

Costco Flyer shows $70.00 of 4 Bridgestones. Not sure if they're doing 1 cent installation or not.

Looks like 1-cent install starts today, runs through 7/15. Making an appointment pronto.

Buying 4 Arizonian tires from Discount on Friday for the first time based input from 1ags in previous tire posts. I only put 5k miles a year on a Lexus sedan. Why spend more on a Michelin that will dry rot in 5 years. Makes sense to me now.

Thanks 1ags.

Its a really good tire for the money.

Well crap. I just had Discount put 4 new Michelin tires (rated "best") on my car this past Saturday due to one having a nail in it and all of them were at their lower limits. Any idea of my chances of getting this promotion if I call them? I would have definitely postponed a week if I had thought about upcoming promotions.

I just put in an order for 4 Michelin tires and the store manager called me after to ask for payment. Although my appointment is for Monday he wanted to get it paid for so there "wouldn't be any problems getting the $100 discount".

Fellas,

Thanks a million for tipping me off about the Discount Tire July 4 rebates.

By waiting until yesterday (June 29), I 'saved' $100 on a set of (5), plus I also got the manufacturer's rebate of $70.

While I've been trading with DT for years, I just never considered this stuff until I read it here.

You didn't have to wait to get the promotion. Per the DT manager I spoke with they have the flexibility of about a week or so to give it to you. I bought tires and had them put on this past Monday and they gave me the promotion without me asking. I filled out the rebate that night and it was approved the next day.

I would try. I bought my tires on June 28th (technically before the promotion started) and I was given the rebate form.

Got my Arizonians on with $75 rebate. I like the way they look and drive so far.

Thanks again 1ags.

Ok so what's the best deal and tire for a '12 F150 2wd? Need to pull the trigger on some tires and today seems to be the best day to do it.

I've learned to buy my tires at DT to align with the promotions. Just picked up a new set last Saturday.

These holiday rebates are in addition to manufacturer rebate, correct?

Cooper Tires are being offered with a $70 rebate prepaid Visa card right now through the end of the month. Finally ordered new tires (Cooper RS5 Ultra Touring) for the wife's Corolla and they'll be installed on Thursday.

She got 50k miles and 4.5 years out of the OEM Goodyear Eagle RS-A tires before dry rot finally set in.

I'll never ride on coopers again. Louder than hell on my Silverado and wore out quick. I wanted to try an American branded tire, but that was short-lived.

What tires did you end up getting? I'm in the same situation. I have a 2013 F-150 XLT w/ 265 60 R18's. Debating what tires to get. I need some tires soon, so figure Labor Day is best time to get them. I'm keeping it at least for another year, but not sure if I'll keep it longer...

Anyone have any reviews on Provider Entrada HT? Considering those since I'm not sure how long I'll keep the truck. It's $524 OTD and 15% rebates (10% for Labor Day and 5% for cc w/ them).

Are the Providers a decent tire? Any other brands at Discount Tire I should consider? Or should I spend an extra $200 and get some Bridgestones from Costco (not including install - which I hope they do 1 cent installs soon)? I don't want to "over" buy since I do not know how long I'll keep the truck, but don't want to be too cheap and get tires that will only last 2 years... I remember 1ags saying that Arizonians are good, cheap tires but they do not come in my size.

Most of my driving is highway. I leave the house fairly early, so most of my driving is 50+ mph. I will also get the tire certificates because we live around new construction and have had a few tires w/ nails in them.

Junk.

Buy some CL takeoff tires over that stuff.

I see that Cooper HT Plus are available in that size, they're fairly budget friendly at $130 ea. Cooper makes a good reliable tire, IIRC they're the ones who manufacture the Arizonians.

In your opinion, what is a fair price for mounting & balancing of tires/wheels?
drewbie

Any tips or websites so I can learn how to buy CL tires? Nervous that I would make a dumb purchase by missing obvious damage.

The Cooper HT Plus are $130 and $688 OTD w/ about $100 back via rebates. I'm liking the reviews on them.

Any feedback on the following vs the Cooper HT Plus:

Goodyear Fortitude HT. They are $644 OTD w/ $95 back via rebates.
Michelin Premier LTX. They are $770 w/ about $115 back via rebates
Bridgestone Dueler LTH is $946 w/ about $200 rebate. Reading reviews online the Dueler is bad on ice and hard pack, but generally a good highway tire; however, found a forum where they were all bashing the Dueler's and said the Michelin Premier's were better.

Thanks in advance for all the help. I'm tire illiterate.

Bridgestone Duelers have at least a dozen models within their 'line'.

There are some real crap ones and some real good ones.

LTH is a tire made for Discount Tire at discount tire's specs. You generally will not see a Dueler LTH for sale anywhere else.

D687, D840II and D689 is OE for Toyota and some GM products and Total Garbage.

Dueler Revo 2 (and now Revo 3) is their All Terrain Tire and really good.

Dueler Alenza II is for crossovers and SUVs and is their nicer tire but can handle a little very light off roading/ice.

Dueler 422 is really mostly for your RX350s, Outbacks and Foresters and Highlanders, Ford Edge etc. Quieter than the alenza and focused on a nice ride and more car like handling.

Pathfinder HT is also decent for the money.

Cooper HT is decent and has that sporty 'look'.

Thanks for all the help! I ended up getting the Michelin defender LTX. Got them for $822 OTD plus about $120 in rebates. Only negative was no certificates. They gave me the same prorated tread warranty that Costco does. I had them price match the Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza plus which costco had for $170 per tire and $15 install. They didn't have them in stock but could have them in later that day. I was going out of town in the afternoon so would have had to come back in next week for install, so they offered same price for the defenders (price usually around $201 per) and out the door in 30 minutes. Michelin has free road side assistance for three years so I said sure....

Almost went with the coopers but they had to be shipped in too. They wouldn't arrive until late next week. Figure I already wasted an hour there. Didn't want to waste another hour to save a few bucks not including missing work and fighting traffic too. Also thought the Michelin's at this price was a good deal.
