What is the best method for eliminating the smoke smell in a used vehicle? Can you ever eliminate it or just cover it up?

Is there a cabin filter ?
What kind of car?
What I've done in the past is use a cup of Ammonia in the car (obviously dont drive it), and left it in there for a few days, and the smoke smell is absorbed fairly quick.12th Man Ag said:1agswitchin4lanes said:

Need to check. It is a 2015 Mazda CX-5.
I have the 9000mg version of that unit. Works great for getting smells out of houses, cars, and hunting clothes.TXCIGAR said:
One of the best things which I have found is a small Ozone machine. It can not been ran while anyone is in the vehicle and the vehicle must be allowed to air out afterwards, but It has been successful at removing the smell of smoke from a vehicle. To give an example of how well it has worked on other odors, one of my employees had picked up a large tray of green beans and while driving the juice spilled in the back seat of his truck. He placed the Ozone machine in his truck and it was able to pull out the green bean odor. I have posed below an amazon link for the one that I own.
