About 15 months ago I began the hunt for a V70R with a stick shift and, preferably, a sunroof. These cars are incredibly rare (I read there were only about 1100 VRs imported to the US with manuals). At one point I almost gave up on the search after I quickly discovered how ruthless the market was for these things and had a few that were sold in 24-48 hours.
Fast forward to last Monday when I logged on to Craigslist and saw one so close to me over in Austin. I contacted the seller and was miraculously the first to call him. I went through the hoops, Dan pulled a Carfax for me. This thing was clean. I never realized how clean a 15 year old car could be. The first owner bought it custom-ordered and drove it for 143k. The second owner bought it at a Carmax auction, put 5k on and $2,500 into it and flipped it to me.
So I present my new-to-me 2004 V70R.
